Like with our fresh cut Christmas trees, our potted Nordmann Firs are individually-selected from expert growers around the UK to provide you with the best quality Christmas tree available.
They come in 3 sizes; 2-3ft, 3-4ft and 4-5ft and are delivered in a non-decorative plastic gardening pot (colour and shape may vary due to close-circle sourcing from multiple British growers).
If cared for correctly, they can be planted out into the garden or kept in a pot for the following Christmas.
As with most houseplants, your potted Christmas tree will need regular watering but be careful not to overwater and always place a large saucer underneath the pot to contain any excess fluid.
Of course, the tree will grow – around one foot per year once established – so only plant the tree outside if you have space for it to mature. It will need the correct soil and conditions in order to flourish so please do your research first.
Once you have planted your tree in the garden, it will be very difficult to re-pot it and bring it into the house again but place some outdoor lights on it and enjoy it for years to come.
If you leave your Christmas tree in its pot outside, make sure it is kept watered and out of extreme heat throughout the summer months. Inside the pot, its growth will be restricted. If you wish for it to grow, it can be re-potted into a larger container before the spring – ensure the soil has good drainage and use a Christmas tree plant food to help it settle into its new home.
Please note that potted Christmas trees are rarely as symmetrical as cut trees, due to being younger and having had less time to be shaped into the more traditional cookie cutter tree you may be familiar with.
